What slowing down in Tokyo taught me about health.

Slow down to speed up

Your body doesn’t just need movement - it needs moments of rest.

Hey love,

I’ve been walking on average 20,000 steps a day, eating ramen, and wandering through streets with no real agenda in Japan. No stress.

And it hit me - this is the first time in a long time I’ve slowed down enough to release myself of the daily stressors of life.

If I missed the train, all good - another one is on the way.
If I didn’t get to Kyoto by 3pm, all good - I’ll get there eventually that day.

The result? I lost 1kg after two weeks in Japan.

Sure, the steps helped but I honestly attribute it to the massive reduction in stress.

Because these days, I’m not chasing perfection. I’m chasing peace and longevity.

In my usual routine in Sydney, everything runs on autopilot:
Train. Eat. Work. Create Content. Coach. Reply. Eat. Repeat.

But on holidays, time feels slower and I’m reminded that rest, joy, and curiosity are just as important as protein and workouts.

Sometimes we’re so focused on controlling every variable - the macros, the training split, the steps - that we forget what we’re even chasing.

The truth? Constant stress affects your hormones and can make fat loss harder - especially around the belly.

When you stop rushing, your body finally feels safe enough to recover.

Because true wellness doesn’t live in your schedule or your to-do list.
It lives in the moments you actually experience your life.

That could be sipping coffee without checking your phone.
Eating your meal because you enjoy it - not because you earned it.

So this week, I want you to find one thing to slow down for.
One moment to notice.

Because your body’s not just asking for movement - it’s asking for peace and presence.

If you’ve been stuck in go-mode and your body feels like it’s running on fumes, this is your sign to rest and reset (or maybe book yourself a holiday).

Inside the True Wellness Transformation Project, we help driven women build a version of wellness that works with their body, hormones, and lifestyle - not against them.

Now I travel with confidence Eat the food. Take the photo. Enjoy your body. Hey love, A year ago, when I was burnt out from work and not training or eating well, my body was bloated, inflamed, and a few kilos heavier. I used to hate travel and shopping trips. I didn’t want to be on a beach in a bikini or wander through stores with bright lights and mirrors, buying clothes a size up from what I used to wear (that’s just not a nice feeling). But this week, wandering through Tokyo, I noticed...

I can't believe I lost 2kg in 3 weeks From traveling through the USA of all places! Before I headed to the US for work, I was on track with my nutrition. I had my meals planned out throughout the day. I was on autopilot with my prep and food. Knowing what we know about food in the US - large sizes, highly processed - I was expecting the worse. I was certain I'd gain weight from this trip. I accepted this outcome. I accepted it - because although I have my day to day routine, holidays and new...
